The Greenbuild KB Home ProjeKt was a highlight of the expo that took place this week in Los Angeles. The demonstration home, constructed on the show floor with an eye on sustainability, provided a look at what future homes could be like—and made good use of glass and fenestration products.
While fewer industry companies choose to exhibit at Greenbuild compared to some other architectural trade shows, those who do say being a part of the show serves a unique purpose. For many glass and glazing industry companies, this show remains an important event. The American Bird Conservancy (ABC), which is exhibiting at Greenbuild in Washington, D.C., announced Wednesday it has launched its “Bird-Smart Glass Program.” The program seeks to address the issue of bird collisions with glass, which ABC says kills hundreds of millions of birds each year in the U.S.
