Architects looking for educational credits in 2023 can start the year off by attending Glass Expo Rocky Mountain™. Co-sponsored by the Colorado Glazing Contractors Association, USGlass magazine and USGNN™ the two-day event is set to take place Jan. 19-20 at the Hyatt Regency Aurora-Denver Conference Center, and will bring new products, networking and education to the Denver area. The program will include a number of educational sessions, including one offering learning units for architects.
On Thursday, Jan. 19 from 12:45-2 p.m. Mark Jacobson, market manager in North America for Trosifol® interlayers from Kuraray, will lead “Enhancing Security with Laminated Glass.” This session provides one Learning Unit, HSW.
Laminated glass is used in many different applications requiring different performance attributes. Glass makeups for structural, decorative, acoustic, security, ballistics and safety can be tailored to achieve optimum properties. Jacobson will discuss interlayer properties that contribute to desired performance and tools to help select the appropriate interlayer. The session’s learning objectives include identifying different reasons why laminated glass is used, understanding properties of interlayers that make them best suited for specific applications; reviewing tools that can be used to select the appropriate interlayer for different applications; and specifying the interlayer once it is selected.
