Kuraray’s Trosifol Sound LabKuraray has released a new sound database called SoundLab, which determines sound insulation values for glass constructions fabricated using Trosifol products. It can be used by architects or engineers to calculate acoustic performance of monolithic, double and triple glazed units. The software application is available in five languages.

Continuing Education
Course: “Silicone Coatings: An Alternative to Ceramic Frit for Spandrel Glass”
Provider: ICD High Performance Coatings
Learning Units: AIA 1 CE/HSW
This one-hour webinar provides design teams education on an alternative to traditional spandrel glass coating options when it comes to aesthetics and function. Attendees will learn applications for spandrel glass, along with the various styles of spandrel (harmonizing façade glass, decorative spandrel and retro-fit). Attendees will also learn the benefits of high-performance silicone coatings for glass, as well as environmental aspects and considerations for specifications.
Course: “Water Resistance for Commercial Systems”
Provider: Crawford-Tracey Corp.
Learning Units: AIA 1 LU/HSW
This course examines the potential effects of water infiltration through commercial glazing systems. Additionally, this course addresses the basic requirements, testing protocols, design criteria and product evaluations for commercial systems and their performance related to water resistance. After completion of this course, participants will be able to define water infiltration as required in impact and non-impact glazing systems, define wind speed charts and compare required water infiltration resistance, compare the AAMA requirements for water infiltration versus actual project conditions, and review and apply design criteria to limit water infiltration.
