Architects’ Forum™ 2019 is headed to the Long Island Marriott in Uniondale, N.Y., on March 28. The event is organized by Architects’ Guide to Glass & Metal magazine to provide continuing education courses for architects at no cost.

Leigh Anne Mays, regional architectural manager east for Guardian Glass, will discuss “The Evolution of Glass and High Performance Coatings.” This session, presented by Guardian Glass – Silver Sponsor, offers attendees 1 LU/HSW credit hour and goes from 10 – 11 a.m.

This one-hour interactive presentation provides an overview of the basics of glass and its manufacturing process. It discusses various types of low-E technologies available in the market and defines relevant energy terms. The presentation also uses a case study format and shows multiple project examples to discuss current trends in glass usage, application and important design considerations.

Mays has worked in the architecture and construction industry for more than 20 years. During that time, she gained a wide range of experience from positions held at an architectural firm, in commercial real estate development, a building products representative, and now with a glazing manufacturer. Her passion is helping find the perfect glazing solutions for the design community by turning glass concepts into reality.

In addition to free LU credits, registered attendees of the Architects’ Forum also gain free entry to the Glass Expo Northeast™ trade show where they can further their knowledge about the architectural glass and metal industry. For more information, please visit https://glassguides.com/forum/.
