Architects’ Forum ™ 2019 Seminar Showcase: Fenestration and Glazing Considerations for School Safety

February 28th, 2019 | Category: Industry News

Architects’ Forum™ is organized by Architects’ Guide to Glass & Metal magazine to provide architects the opportunity to meet with colleagues and gain essential education about glass and metal products and applications.

Greg Galloway, ProTek® brand manager for YKK AP America Inc., will discuss “Fenestration and Glazing Considerations for School Safety” on Thursday, March 28, from 1:45 – 2:45 p.m. This seminar is presented by Silver Sponsor, YKK AP America Inc. and provides registered attendees one AIA HSW Learning Unit credit.

This course explores design strategies for new schools to make the most effective use of glazing for daylighting, natural surveillance, safety and security. It’s easier (and less costly) to address multiple design objectives with a new facility. With existing facilities, improvements are more limited but can make a big difference. Upgrade priority sequences for glazing and locks will be provided to attendees.

Galloway is ProTek® brand manager for YKK AP America Inc. His background includes more than 30 years in fenestration systems with accomplishments in strategic business planning, market intelligence, brand and product management. Galloway holds B.S. and M.B.A. degrees, and serves on the Southeast AAMA Technical Committee and board of directors.

Architects Forum is a free event for architects and provides up to four AIA Learning Units, lunch and networking opportunities.  The event will be held at the Long Island Marriott in Uniondale, N.Y.  Registered attendees also gain free entry to visit the Glass Expo Northeast™ tradeshow, where they can further their knowledge about the architectural glass and metal industry.
