As I write this, the end of 2015 is only days away. And, as I always do, I’m sitting here thinking how quickly the past year went by. But it’s also a time to think about the coming year and all that it will bring. Just a quick glance at my calendar and I see there’s a lot to look forward to. Take a look.

Westward bound. I’ll be headed west in February and March for two Glass Association of North America meetings. The group switched the schedule up just a bit and will be hosting the BEC Conference in February in Las Vegas followed by the Annual Conference in Palm Springs. These two events will be full of helpful sessions and presentations, and are definitely worth attending. You can learn more through the GANA website.

The City of Brotherly Love is Calling. In May it’s off to Philadelphia for the American Institute of Architects National Convention. This is where you will find most all of the glass companies as well as the curtainwall and metal suppliers. It’s also a fun show to walk as you can see some amazing products from outside the glass industry. I usually leave with a few ideas of products I’d like for my own home.

Boston Beckons. In July, the second Glasscon Global will take place in Boston; the inaugural event was in 2014 in Philly. If you’re looking to hear from some of the greatest minds in the architectural glass industry then look no further. These sessions will dig into some major topics, covering energy efficiency and high-performance, design, facades and much more. More details are available here.

Time for Oktoberfest. Okay, well really it’s time for glasstec, but this year it will take place in late September, which is also during Oktoberfest. But really, this is the event of all events for the glass industry. Machinery and equipment, innovative facades and everything you can think of for architectural glass will be displayed. I say it all the time: if you’ve never been, it’s truly a see-to-believe experience. Start making plans by visiting the event website.

As you close out 2015 and plan for next year, think about other opportunities to learn more about what’s happening in the glass and glazing industry. Changes are happening all the time. It’s an exciting time for this industry. Happy New Year and I hope to see you in 2016!
