Architects’ Forum 2015 Opens Tomorrow

Architects’ Forum™ 2015, organized by the Architects’ Guide to Glass & Metal magazine, opens tomorrow at the Hyatt Regency Long Island in Hauppauge (Long Island), N.Y. The day-long program, designed specifically with the educational needs of architects in mind, offers five presentations on a variety of glass and glazing topics. Attending architects will earn continuing education credits, including hours toward their Health, Safety and Welfare requirements.

A number of glass and glazing industry experts will lead the sessions. Speakers include:

Bill Blazek, sales engineer, Technoform Bautec and Laura Woods, product manager, Technoform Glass Insulation, will lead a session titled “The Future of High Performing Fenestration: Understanding Thermal Break and High Performing Insulating Glass for the Fenestration Industry.”

Leigh Anne Mays, commercial sales manager in the Northeast for Guardian Industries, will present “Principles of Glass Selection for Facades: From Rendering to Reality.”

Mike Nicklas, business development manager with J.E. Berkowitz L.P., will present “Glass Fabrication and Design Issues.”

Terry Sammons will present Fenzi North America’s session, “Selecting Insulating Glass Sealants for Durability and Energy Efficiency.”

James Wharton, territory account manager – Northeast for Technical Glass Products will present “Form, Function & Fire Safety: A Clearer View of Fire-Rated Glass and Framing.”

In addition to the presentations, the program also includes lunch, coffee breaks and an informative tabletop display providing attendees further opportunities to learn about glass and glazing products. Architects attending all five sessions will be entered for a chance to an iPad Mini. The drawing will take place at 5 p.m. April 23 on the Glass Expo Northeast™ trade show floor, which is also taking place concurrently.
