Architects’ Guide to Glass Welcomes Tom Minnon as Newest Blogger

Tom Minnon, eastern region sales manager for Tubelite Inc., is the latest blogger to join the Architects’ Guide to Glass & Metal website and bi-weekly e-newsletter. Minnon’s blog will provide insight into sustainable and green building and design practices, paying close attention to the role that glass and metal products play in achieving this goal.

Minnon’s experience in the fenestration industry includes architectural sales in natural daylighting applications, high-performance glazing, solar energy design and architectural aluminum glazing systems with Kalwall Corporation, Kawneer Company and YKK AP. He also earned the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design® Accredited Professional Certification.

A resident of Derry, N.H., Minnon currently serves as chairperson on the Town Council’s Energy and Environmental Advisory Committee. He and his wife have completely remodeled their 30-year-old home to meet sustainable design criteria inside and outdoors, incorporating water efficiency and re-use, renewable energy and efficiency, as well as recycled and recyclable materials.

Minnon has been a speaker at many industry events including Glass Expo Midwest, Glass TEXpo, and the Connecticut Glass Dealers Association. He also has presented at several chapters of the American Institute of Architects and the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI). In addition to speaking at CSI events, Minnon also is a CSI Construction Documents Technologist, CSI Certified Construction Products Representative and past president of the CSI New Hampshire Chapter.

“We’re so excited to have Tom join our blogging team,” says Ellen Rogers, editor of the Architects’ Guide to Glass & Metal. “As we all know, the move to ‘go green’ is a design concept that is becoming an inherent part of everyday architecture. Tom has first-hand experience, having remodeled his own home to be a model of sustainability, and will draw from his own experiences to provide important information and insight for our readers.”

Minnon’s blog will run in the Architects’ Guide to Glass & Metal e-newsletter the third Wednesday of each month.
