Distinctive Glazing Included in 2010 Olympic Curling Facility Conversion

October 6th, 2010 | Category: Industry News

During the 2010 Winter Games the Vancouver Olympic Center at Hillcrest Park was home to curling and wheelchair curling events. The facility is now undergoing a conversion from its role as curling and wheelchair curling competition venue and once complete will serve as a new community center, ice rink, curling club, library, preschool, field house and offices.

As part of this conversion, a new indoor/outdoor aquatic center opened this past summer. For the project, which was designed by architect Hughes Condon Marler, Garibaldi Glass fabricated Guardian SN68/clear glass. Glasstec served as the contract glazier.

The remainder of the facility will open in 2011.
