The Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association (BHMA) is offering a free download of ANSI/BHMA A156.18 – 2006, the American National Standard for Materials and Finishes, available through July 31, 2010. This standard can be used when specifying for a wide range of project applications and the different levels of use for the hardware.

The BHMA says this standard establishes finish test methods and code numbers for finishes on various base materials. Performance test methods for finishes are outlined in the standard.
